Office chairs used to mean massive leather thrones with fifty mysterious levers and a tendency to encourage slouching. Now, unorthodox seating options like the Best Kneeling Chair Wirecutters category are taking over workspaces to fix our poor alignment.
Sitting flat on your rear puts all your weight in one spot, but shifting your posture to an open-angle seat distributes your body weight across your shins and hips.
Let us look at eight popular choices that might just save your aching lumbar region. Keep reading to see which model fits your workspace.
Key Takeaways
- Prioritize models with thick foam cushions if you plan on sitting for more than an hour at a time.
- Check the weight capacity carefully to ensure the frame comfortably supports your daily use.
- Look for height adjustability so the knee pads and seat angle align properly with your specific desk height.
- Decide whether you want a backrest for extra support or a backless stool to force active core engagement.
- Verify if the locking wheels are necessary for your flooring type to prevent the chair from rolling away when you sit down.
