Key Takeaways
- Prioritize a pea-sized amount of fluoride formula once your dentist confirms it is appropriate for cavity prevention.
- Look for mild natural flavors like strawberry or bubble gum to keep toddlers from rejecting the routine entirely.
- Verify that formulas are free from artificial sweeteners and harsh preservatives to keep accidental swallowing safe.
- Check the tube size and age grading carefully because a 3-year-old requires different formulation standards than an infant.
- Consider complete sets that bundle the paste with a specially sized brush if you are starting a brand new routine.
